There is no doubt that the far left has produced a lot of insanity in 2023, but if you thought we had reached the peak as midnight approaches to ring in a new year, think again. A late entry has emerged, and it's simply mind-blowing. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say the level of depravity I'm about to share is hard to believe.
Let's just begin with the headline of the story in question. LGBTQ Nation, a publication that promotes exactly what you'd expect, published an article in which it lauded activists for saving a so-called "queer beach" from the building of a playground nearby. Your eyes are probably already darting nervously after reading that, but buckle up because things are going to get more nuts.
LGBTQ+ activists saved a beloved queer beach after city tried to build a playground nearby... #Seattle #DennyBlainePark #LGBTQ

The setup here is rather mundane. An area of Seattle had (and still has) a distinct lack of playground equipment for children to enjoy. To remedy that problem, a generous donor gave $550,000 to the city to build a new playground, and it was to be placed on a plot of land near the "queer beach" mentioned above.

At no point was any prohibition placed on any of the behavior that occurs at the beach itself (though, it should have been). Instead, the LGBT activists decided to preemptively get the project shut down, depriving the kids of a new playground, because they feared they would be targeted. Why would they be targeted, you might ask? Let's see what one of the activists has to say.
โItโs hard to even come up with a different reason beyond the one that feels most obvious, which is that this is someone trying to shut down the nude beach,โ 30-year-old Milo Kusold told the Times.
โIf you have a person whoโs not in the community showing up with their kids, and there are people around who are naked, theyโre probably going to call the cops,โ Kusold continued. โThis is kind of the weaponization of children to try to exclude or harm the queer community. This is just another example.โ
Yes, you read that correctly. The City of Seattle stopped the building of an already full-funded playground to appease LGBT activists...because the "queer community" was worried having children nearby would "harm" them by interrupting their public displays of nudity.
An online petition opposing the playground garnered over 9,000 signatures, and the December 6 meeting was packed with members of the LGBTQ+ community who opposed the project, many of them holding signs that read โDonโt Displace Historic And Diverse Community,โ โGay Buns Over Shady Funds,โ and โSave Denny Blaine.โ
โIโm a Black transgender man and a homeowner in the city. Denny Blaine is the only park that I feel safe to swim in,โ said Vince Reiman, a Seattle native. โWhen I transitioned, I thought that I would never be able to swim in Lake Washington againโฆ Denny Blaine is my miracle.โ
Understand where we are as a society. One of America's major cities decided that it valued "queer" people being able to walk around naked in public over the needs of children. What an absolutely insane value system.
Seattle: 'While we understand there are no safe places for families to take their kids to play near the beach...our priority is in making sure the LGBTQ community can continue being nude in public.' https://t.co/BFW3qVdsXz pic.twitter.com/YIfGJWEBf5

It's hard to fathom people being that selfish. Why would anyone's identity be that wrapped up in public displays of nudity? To the point where they'd keep a playground for kids from being built, leaving the local neighborhood lacking basic facilities for families?
I'm not sure what's more pathetic, the activists involved here or the city for bending the knee to them. I suppose "both" suffices as an answer.
