Is there a political group with less self-esteem than the modern left? The constant seeking of approval, including from countries we won our independence from, has always been pretty cringe. Under President Trump, that only got worse as Europe decided that the United States was evil incarnate — despite them owing their current freedom (or what they call freedom) to our actions.
But, I’ve got some good news. They love us again, and all it cost us was massive inflation, open borders, energy independence, concessions to Russian and Iran, and attacks on the very foundation of our culture.
Does that seem like a good deal to anyone else?
US Favorability Abroad Spikes With Biden In Office https://t.co/AdYbwmrKS5

Pew polled 16,254 people from “advanced economies” to explore how public opinion towards the United States has shifted during the first months of the Biden administration. The poll found that a median 62% have favorable views of the U.S., while 36% have unfavorable views.
At the end of former President Donald Trump’s presidency, those numbers were practically reversed. Only 34% had favorable views of the U.S, while 63% had unfavorable views, according to Pew.
I mean, my savings has been devalued by 5% just in the last few months, but hey, the French like us again, and isn’t that what truly matters here?

This is a reminder of the sheer idiocy and shallowness of the political left and our politics in general. Why would anyone pine for the approval of other countries when they live in the United States. Heck, I’d even go so far as to suggest that’s a fairly un-American desire. We fought a revolution from a European nation, after all. We are at the top of the food chain. I’m not looking to make someone in Germany like me.
Biden’s retreat from and submission on the world stage has led to profoundly negative consequences for normal Americans. With the U.S. being reliant on foreign energy again, energy prices have skyrocketed across the board. Inflation is making it difficult for some to even tread water. Meanwhile, Biden handed Putin control over a NATO ally (with that NATO’s ally’s gleeful approval) by lifting sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. But hey, you still get to pay for Germany’s defense from Russia anyway.
You know what a parent battling Critical Race Theory in their local school district couldn’t care less about? Whether someone sipping a coffee in China approves of them or not.
I’ll just posit that the backlash is coming from all this. Policy matters, not mindless pining for the approval of foreign nations. The American people got their fill of this nonsense during the Obama administration and swung wildly in the other direction. It’s going to happen again.
