There’s a theme surrounding the charitable contributions of Democrats, and Kamala Harris plays right into it. Apparently, the vice president, who has spent the past several months pronouncing “help is on the way” even as the administration she works for fumbles the economy and vaccine roll-out, isn’t really the giving type.
Here’s the low amount she gave to charity last year.
Kamala Harris and her husband donated just 1.6% of their income to charity in 2020 https://t.co/IIwEN56YPN

Vice President Kamala Harris and the Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff reported earning millions of dollars in 2020 but donated a small fraction to charity, according to tax documents released by the White House on Monday.
The pair reported an adjusted gross income of $1,695,225, but contributed $27,006 to charity in 2020. That is about 1.6% of their income, below the average for people of their level of income.
Harris is hardly alone in being so stingy with her money. You probably remember hearing that Beto O’Rourke only gave 0.31% when he released his tax returns in 2020. Joe Biden famously only gave $70,000 total to charity over 20 years until 2017 when his income skyrocketed and he needed to set himself up for a presidential run.
But the bigger story here isn’t just the giving in a vacuum. If Kamala Harris was just a private citizen, it’d be a bad look that she gave so little, but not very noteworthy. What makes it relevant is how hypocritical she and many politicians in her party are. They constantly preach about social justice, helping the little guy, and the rich “paying their fair share,” but when push comes to shove, they do nothing to live up to those ideals. Rather, they do everything they can to spend more and more of other people’s money while taking the credit. That’s not noble, it’s just theft by another name, and it’s manipulative at that.
If someone is going to proclaim help is on the way as a catchphrase, maybe being part of the helping would be prudent? Just a thought, but what do I know, I’m just a guy who makes way less and gives far, far more as a percentage of my income. Republicans typically do that across the board because they tend to actually care about people outside of the construct of government power and the spotlight.
The worst kind of politician is one who virtue signals about the downtrodden but can’t be bothered to sacrifice anything themselves. Harris is that kind of politician, which matches up perfectly with the overall fakeness of her demeanor and personality. She’s always just putting on a show, and most people see right through it.
