Just in case you needed more evidence that Andrew Cuomo is a terrible person, his spokesman put the exclamation point on that fact last night in a disgusting attack on Janice Dean.
Dean is well known as the top meteorologist for Fox News, having served in that position for years with a smile and gentle spirit, but she’s also a person who lost both of her in-laws due to Cuomo’s insane COVID policies. That’s led her to advocate for change, and also that sociopaths like Cuomo pay a price for their egomaniacal failures.
The back and forth has been going on for a while between Dean and the governor, but this latest response may be the worst yet.
Cuomo spokesman on criticisms from @JaniceDean (who lost both of her in-laws to COVID in NY nursing homes): “She’s not a credible source on anything except maybe the weather.”
Wow, what an asshole.https://t.co/ulS5LZTzHC

On Tuesday, Dean hit out at what she saw as a botched rollout of the vaccine, which she called a “disaster.’”
“It is just another leadership failure from this governor,” Dean said.
The Governor’s office has not cottoned to Dean’s consistent criticism, though they have largely ignored it. But this last comment of hers? It inspired pushback.
Richard Azzopardi, a spokesperson for Cuomo, told DailyMail.com in response: “Every state has had issues with vaccine distribution because of lack of federal funds but we’re rapidly ramping up distribution and currently have administered more than 60 percent of the vaccines we have.”
But then he added the rather rude, if not sexist, dig. “Last I checked, she’s not a credible source on anything except maybe the weather.”
Actually, no, not every state has had major issues with vaccine distribution. That honor has gone to most of the very same blue states who so botched the pandemic in the beginning as well, including New York. Florida, for example, leads the country in per capita distribution of the vaccine. Ron DeSantis isn’t whining about a mythical lack of “federal funds,” instead choosing to actually do the hard work of serving his citizens. That takes The infrastructure is there in New York as well, but Cuomo’s ego dictated that he took personal control of the distribution, and it’s been an abject disaster.
Regardless, the idea that Dean is somehow not credible on this point is laughable. If anyone should take a seat when it comes to questioning another’s credibility, it’s Cuomo and his team. They’ve shown over and over that they don’t care one bit about following the science, instead choosing the path of cowardice, locking down and destroying businesses when that has been shown to be completely ineffective. Further, Cuomo did cause carnage in nursing homes by shoving COVID positive patients back into them. He would later chose to “report” deaths differently than most other states, almost certainly in a gambit to cover up the true numbers. That’s what prompted Dean to begin speaking out in the first place. No one lacks more credibility on the issue of the coronavirus than Andrew Cuomo.
Dean would eventually respond to this latest slight.
I can do weather and speak up for my family at the same time. https://t.co/GcidfgPMFX

Others also came to her defense.
This attack is the surest sign that @JaniceDean is really, really getting to them. https://t.co/RtoeWtuzh9

A governor’s spokesman saying that a woman is “not a credible source” on the deaths of her own family members would be disgusting even if @JaniceDean were *not* an accomplished, dynamic beacon of love & light, but she also is those things. https://t.co/r8NtqPsHph

There was a time when it’d be very unusual for Cuomo and his henchmen to attack someone like Dean. She’s done nothing but speak truth in the face of her own personal tragedy. Yet, when you have a media complex that deifies figures like Cuomo, refusing to hold them accountable for anything, they simply become emboldened. Thus, you get this gross attack.
