The attempts to destroy Tucker Carlson for daring to be successful while not toeing the liberal line continues. The latest is a “sexual harassment” lawsuit brought against the cable news talker, and while I’d normally take a wait and see approach, this thing is so ludicrous that it deserves condemnation now.
The "sexual harassment" complaint against Tucker Carlson alleges no such thing, and the "tied to a chair" part is such a comical exaggeration it makes it quite hard to believe any of the rest of it. https://t.co/MjyCMmP6rz via @eScarry

In fact, the claim against Carlson is so ludicrous that it doesn’t even qualify as sexual harassment. You ready for it?
The suit alleges, according to CNBC, that after a December 2018 appearance on Carlson’s show while in New York, Carlson made sexual advances toward Areu.
“Following the show, Mr. Carlson, hardly making any effort to hide his intentions, began telling Ms. Areu that he would be alone in New York City that night, and specifically said that he would be staying alone in his hotel room without any wife or kids,” the suit said, according to CNBC. “Without question, Mr. Carlson was probing to see whether Ms. Areu was interested in a sexual relationship. Ms. Areu awkwardly sidestepped Mr. Carlson’s advances and declined to spend the night at his hotel.”
The suit then complained that Carlson “promptly retaliated against Ms. Areu, who was featured on his show only three times in 2019 and has not appeared once in 2020.”
As Robby Soave writes over at the Examiner, that’s literally it. That’s the accusation. Carlson allegedly once told her he was having to stay over in New York City without his family. He didn’t actually make any advances, nor propositions. It’s the kind of thing people make small talk about all the time. I mentioned just a few weeks ago to a friend that my family were out of town. It wasn’t to sexually proposition them. It was actually to note how undesirable it is to have an empty house.
Further, he supposedly retaliated against her by having her back on his show? How does that make sense? I personally have no idea who this woman is, but non-employee guests come on go on Carlson’s show all the time. There are people who would appear regularly years ago that no longer appear. There are people appearing now that will be forgotten a year from now. The expectation that this woman would appear regularly on his show forever is nonsensical.
Besides, how exactly did Ms Areu believe Carlson was even expecting her to find his room? He never told her where he was staying, because why would he? Every indication is that he was just making small talk. Further, there’s every indication, including via many people I trust that know Carlson personally, that he’s absolutely a devoted family man. Until there’s evidence otherwise, he deserves every benefit of the doubt.
Amber Athey from The Daily Caller also points out that Areu’s claims about the timeline don’t even stand up to scrutiny.
Here are two social media posts about the FNC Christmas Party (this appears to be the party for all of the shows … the individual shows also have their own parties the following week). Both posts are dated Dec 10, 2018. pic.twitter.com/sXGaR0A1RL

What's more, I cannot find any evidence that Areu appeared on the show on December 10, 2018. Here is a YouTube video of that show: https://t.co/1B7M7nNnbb

This is simply an extortion attempt. It’s a throwaway accusation within a larger lawsuit, which is also likely nonsense, to try to get Fox News to pay her off. This is a person who’s career has been reduced to low-rated podcast and they want a big check to make them feel better. None of this should be taken seriously because the lawsuit itself doesn’t even take it seriously, mixing facts and making ridiculous claims.
