Adam Schiff made his now standing apperance on Chuck Todd’s show Sunday morning. Every week, Schiff is welcomed with open arms to enjoy softball questions and never an ounce of push back from the venerable “journalist.”

In his latest comments, Schiff decided to double down on claiming that the White House threatened Republicans by telling them their “heads would be on a pike” if they went against Trump. Keep in mind that even those sympathetic to Democrat requests for witnesses, such as Susan Collins and Mitt Romney, said that simply didn’t happen.

But Schiff is gonna Schiff and Todd isn’t going to do a thing about it.

The sad thing is that he won’t even pay a price for injecting this lie into the process.

Originally, after Schiff made his “head on a pike” claim on the Senate floor, reports were that this had alienated those possible swing votes. The fact that it took that rather mundane event (by comparison to his more impactful lies) to alienate them is bad enough, as Schiff’s prior falsities were more than sufficient to show he hasn’t operated in good faith during this process. But faster than you can blink, he’s already got Collins and Romney back in his corner because they are weak enough to fall for the latest gambit, which involves the leaking of a description of an excerpt from John Bolton’s new book via anonymous sources. Yes, that is how thin the latest charges are, but it was enough to flip the script again.

It’s disappointing to say the least. It is not the Senate’s job to save the House from its bad investigation. But that looks like exactly what will happen, as Schiff can apparently spit in the faces of these four Republican swing votes a second time and still garner their support.
