While the claims of rape, sexual assault, or something lesser (depending on the interview) against Donald Trump from E. Jean Carroll have largely died down, the story itself has continued to evolve.

The entire ordeal can only be described as bizarre. I wrote a piece yesterday that sought to avoid much editorializing, instead choosing to simply compile many of Jean Carroll’s interviews. Here’s a sampling of that.

The things she’s said in the past week, her demeanor, and how she injected politics at the forefront just doesn’t add up. My colleague Brandon Morse reported today on the fact that her accusation mirrors an episode of Law and Order as well. It’s all becoming absurd.

But just when you thought things were weird enough, things just got a whole lot weirder.

At first, I was skeptical. Is this faked?

Nope, it’s real and here’s the direct link to Facebook’s archive of it (assuming she doesn’t delete it eventually). People are flooding the comments now but if you press “view previous comments,” you’ll eventually get to her 2012 reply.

So E. Jean Carroll was a massive fan of the show her supposed rapist created and starred in? I’m not sure how else to describe that except as extremely odd, to the point where I don’t believe she would have said that if the story she’s telling today was true. What woman who’s been sexually assaulted likes to watch their rapist on TV? That’s makes no sense at all.

I’m not even sure how to approach this allegation at this point.

I don’t want to seem like I’m dismissing any possibility that what she says happened because I can’t claim to have have all the facts. What I can claim is that there is a distinct lack of evidence coupled with some really, really bizarre behavior.

There’s a reason the media are no longer talking about this. Meanwhile, some on the right who immediately latched onto the story as credible should probably address their statements at some point. They know who they are.
