Earlier today, we learned that Jussie Smollett had the charges dropped against him for making up a hate crime. Though the state attorney maintains the case was strong, their office inexplicably decided to let Smollett off the hook because he supposedly did community service while forfeiting a minuscule $10,000 bond. This left the Chicago PD livid and even Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel bashing the decision.
None of this adds up and it reeks of corruption.
Well, it’s about to get even stinkier. If you were wondering exactly what this “community service” was that Smollett did, here’s the answer.
Part of Smollett's community service for Rainbow Push included 8 hours of service on March 23rd. And 8 hours of service on March 25th. Service included working in the bookstore, critiquing in the broadcast studio and speaking to students and parents who visited. 2/2

The Daily Caller provides further details.
The attorney’s office provided a letter from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition which stated that Smollett spent “several hours volunteering” over the course of two days at the nonprofit group’s store, where he “met with staff and gave his suggestions” as to how to market its products to a younger demographic.
The letter also stated the “Empire” actor spent “a significant part of his time” reviewing the group’s weekly broadcast and “encouraging” the production crew.
Community service is now apparently going to a highly partisan Democratic activist group and working in a bookstore, while giving critiques and encouragement to a production crew. In the real world that simply isn’t what would be considered traditional community service in response to a crime. This would be like punishing Hillary Clinton for the email scandal by having her go volunteer at the DNC.
In total, he only did 16 hours. There are people doing more than that for possession of marijuana. This guy perpetrated a dangerous hoax, costs the city millions of dollars, and then is let off the hook for less community service than your average sixteen year old would get for a misdemeanor.
While it’s unconscionable that he’d be allowed off the hook in the first place over just 16 hours of community service, it’s even worse that said service happened at a Democratic party front group. A front group that’s got a long history of being intertwined with the corrupt politics that have permeated from Chicago for longer than I’ve been alive.
Furthermore, no one ever gets credit for community service before they are even sentenced. In fact, there’s no actual record of him doing community service, only a letter from Jackson’s organization vouching for him. In reality, he may or may not have even done the 16 hours purported. Instead of helping the homeless, kids in need, or cleaning up parks, Smollett’s “community service” exists only in so far as a Democratic activist says it does. This is all pure insanity.
What really happened here was him enjoying the incredible privilege of being a famous Democrat in a city that has never met a level of corruption too low to stoop to. While Smollett rattled on about standing up for injustice in his disgusting presser earlier, the real injustice were these charges being dropped. No normal person would have enjoyed such treatment.
It’s now time for the DOJ to get involved. There are federal charges in play here and it’s time to slap Smollett with them.
