House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is the latest to call out the blatant discrimination in the Democrat party, saying that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro was overlooked as a potential choice to become Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris’ running mate because of his Jewish heritage.

Johnson sat down for an interview with The Hill shortly after it was announced that Kamala had chosen leftist Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be on her ticket. Johnson said the Keystone State governor would have been the "stronger choice":

“I think that [Shapiro's faith] clearly was a major factor, is that she was reluctant to put a vice presidential nominee on the ticket with Jewish heritage because they’re having a split in the Democratic Party,” Johnson said. “They have a pro-Palestinian, in some cases pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party.”

“Sadly for Josh Shapiro, because of his heritage, I think that is the reason he was overlooked,” Johnson added.

Johnson is far from the only one calling out the distorted values in the Democrat party; my colleague Mike Miller wrote earlier about CNN pundit Van Jones, who is anything but a conservative, calling out "anti-Jewish" bigots:

But you also have anti-Semitism that has gotten marbled into this party. You can be for the Palestinians without being an anti-Jewish bigot. But there are some anti-Jewish bigots out there and there's some disquiet now and there has to be. How much of what just happened is caving into some of these darker parts in the party?

Speaker Johnson continued:

Pressed if there was an antisemitic undertone to the decision — which some Republicans have claimed — Johnson rebuffed, but he reiterated his opinion that Shapiro’s Judaism was a “major factor” in the decision making process.

“I’m not gonna call it that because I don’t — I just know that that was a major factor,” Johnson said. “I think it was transparently a major factor. And I think they made a political decision that is sad, and I think they’ll regret it.”

RedState’s Streiff agrees, writing, "When you cut through all the underbrush, I think it comes down to one issue. Shapiro is Jewish."

The Walz pick feels like one made out of fear; even many Democrats think that Shapiro would have made the stronger choice and helped the ticket in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania. But Kamala is so terrified of annoying her hard-left base and losing the Dearbornistan vote that she’d rather bow to them than make a principled choice.

In doing so, she’s just shown us exactly what kind of leader she would be.
