Legendary college football coach Lou Holtz weighed in Sunday on social media regarding Joe Biden's attempts to radically transform Title IX, and he made it clear he's not a fan of the president's controversial new guidelines.
Joe Biden's radical turn to the left can be no better illustrated than with his attempts to pervert Title IX, the 1972 landmark legislation, and use it to further causes that its original proponents never envisioned. His administration's guidelines require schools to take a student's "gender identity" into account on matters such as sexual harassment—and women's sports, which has seen an avalanche of biological males unfairly competing against females.
As we've reported previously, Biden wants to radically alter the mission:
Title IX, the landmark 1972 statute that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in an educational institution's programs or activities, was seen for almost 50 years as a powerful protection for women’s sports and for females in the halls of academia.
But then along came Joe Biden, whose attempts to bastardize the meaning and original intent of the measure, and basically erase women from sports, have outraged female athletes, attorneys general in multiple states, and the public at large.
In yet another blow to Biden’s polarizing attempts to include “gender-affirming identity” as a factor in Title IX issues, a federal judge on Thursday blocked the administration’s changes and called them a "threat to democracy."

Holtz, the legendary coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as well as the South Carolina Gamecocks, shared how he was enthused by Title IX when it was introduced, but now he's disgusted by how the radical gender warriors are trying to change it.

But here we are, many years later, and now we can’t even ensure women competing against women.
It’s crazy!
Biden's guidelines would essentially force institutions receiving federal funds to allow biologically-born males to compete against females. Like many proposals from this extremist president, his decrees have caused widespread outrage.

The whole point of Title IX was to protect women, but Biden is using it to do the opposite:
Fifty-two years ago the landmark piece of legislation known as Title IX was passed. It was made into law to prevent sex-based discrimination in educational institutions that received funding from the federal government.
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance," the legislation states.
One of the many things that this legislation ensured was that women would be able to have sports programs in colleges and universities. But thanks to the rise of transgenders in women’s sports both at the high school and university levels, women are now facing a crisis in the fairness of competition, in large part because of the Biden administration’s ineptitude in fixing it.
Holtz was a college football mainstay for decades and is perhaps best known for his stint at Notre Dame.
Lou Holtz was a head coach for 34 years at both the college and pro levels, and is perhaps best known for his 11-season stint as head coach at Notre Dame from 1986-1996. Holtz ended his coaching career in the SEC, however, as the head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks for six seasons from 1999-2004. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
