Perhaps soft-on-crime, criminal-coddling LA District Attorney George Gascón could learn a lesson from this story. Do the crime, pay the time.

But in this case, the perp was not sentenced to the Big House – instead, she was sentenced to working two months at a Chipotle franchise for throwing a burrito bowl in the face of an employee. We’re seeing so much bad behavior going unpunished in this country – unless you were a Jan. 6 rioter, it seems as if you can get away with virtually anything – but an Ohio judge saw things differently:

Rosemary Hayne, 39, was captured on camera hurling a bowl of chicken burrito at Emily Russell, 26, the store manager at a Chipotle in Parma, Ohio, in September. 

Hayne pleaded guilty to one count of assault last week and was initially sentenced to three months in jail.

Judge Timothy Gilligan ordered her to serve two months through employment, working at least 20 hours per week at a fast-food restaurant.

'You didn't get your burrito bowl the way you like it and this is how you respond?' he said during sentencing.

'This is not real housewives of Parma. This behavior is not acceptable.' 

Hear hear! Finally a judge who gets it. I’m guessing he wasn’t financed by George Soros, who probably would have awarded the abusive customer with a medal.

Here’s the convicted customer’s tantrum, caught on tape:

Just disgusting behavior, the type we’ve been seeing all too much of lately, from whacko plane passengers to nuts in the city park. What’s behind this rise in appalling manners is a growing acceptance of it by the legal system and by too much of the general public—oh, the poor person must have emotional scars, or they must have had a rough upbringing.

Too bad, lady, sling my burrito and add extra cheese and sour cream. I’m not interested in why you behaved that way—it’s simply not acceptable. 

Judge Gilligan agreed. This is how it went down:

She [Rosemary Hyne] forcibly throws the entire bowl in the worker's face, leaving her drenched in a mix of food and sauce. 

Hayne then exited the store, continuing to shout at the worker, as bystanders were left in shock by the unexpected attack. 

She apologized to Russell in court, but said she was not happy with the way her food was prepared, FOX 8 reported.  

'If I showed you how my food looked and how my food looked a week later from that same restaurant, it's disgusting looking,' Hayne said.

Judge Gilligan was not buying the explanation when he sentenced Hayne. 

But then he drops the real kicker:

"I bet you won't be happy with the food you are going to get in the jail," he said. BOOM. 

That's how you do it.

The poor worker who was subjected to this abuse, Emily Russell, was initially pretty traumatized by the event but has been touched by the support from the community and the public at large:

Awful behavior has sadly all too often become the norm, but this judge wasn’t having it. Good for him. I hope Emily Russell goes on to great things.
