One major American company is now bribing its customers to take a course in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
The North Face, whose products center on outdoor recreation, is offering its customers a 20 percent discount if they agree to complete a short course entitled "Allyship in the Outdoors," which aims to educate participants on supposed racism and inequities in outdoor activities.
However, those eligible for the discount can not come from North America, although Americans are still encouraged to take the course. And while one might expect such a course to last just a few minutes, it actually lasts an entire hour.
Its website states:
At The North Face, we believe in the power of exploration. As individuals, professionals and companies who share a love for the outdoors and exploration, we also have a responsibility to support spaces where everyone feels like they belong. This 1-hour digital course is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the unique challenges that people of colour face when accessing the outdoors.
The course focuses on perspective of race and racism in Europe, and we acknowledge that the experiences of people of colour around the globe differs. It will also provide training and resources, through 4 interactive modules, to help you be a better ally and to make the outdoors a safer and more welcoming place for everyone
The program comprises four comprehensive modules delving into different facets of racial diversity within outdoor pursuits. The course's various insights include understanding one's own privilege and how to overcome accusations of promoting a "woke agenda."
It also references various events that have caused racial tension, including the killing of George Floyd that led to the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020.
The course description continues:
Privilege can give us access to the outdoors – that means some people can enjoy advantages that they inherit from birth and/or accumulate over time. In this particular context, we refer to ‘white privilege’ meaning that your race and skin colour can give you access to the outdoors when others can be excluded because of historic, enduring racism and biases.
There is no explicit policy that excludes people from the outdoors yet there are few people of colour. While there is no intent to exclude, the system in itself creates those barriers to participation.
This is far from the first time that The North Face has attempted to promote its far-left agenda. Last year, the company launched its Summer of Pride campaign, which involved marketing LGBT clothing to young children. In 2022, executives also ran an ad campaign featuring a drag queen exploring the great outdoors.
Holy sh*t. It's real. There was nothing on The North Face's twitter feed, but it's on the web site... pic.twitter.com/5WyBgsGcVZ

As noted by my RedState colleague last year, it is only through financial pain that conservatives can end the propagandization of divisive left-wing ideas within America's largest companies. So, if you were thinking of buying some North Face products for your next camping trip, consider trying to find an independent, conservative-owned retailer instead.
