Since President Donald Trump's speech to the joint session of Congress Tuesday night and the completely inexcusable behavior by Democrats, followed by equally galling comments from their media cohorts, anywhere you look, especially social media, the reaction has not been kind to them. Since Trump's win on November 5, more Americans have gotten on board with the Trump agenda, while the agenda of Democrats and the media is to find something wrong with everything he says and does. What is the liberal media getting for their troubles? A lot of ratings nose-dives, and frankly, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people.

One of those folks experiencing the bottom drop out of her ratings is MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace. In another, more sane life, Wallace was a communications official in the George W. Bush administration. But something happened, maybe a blow to the head, and now Wallace is a propagandist for the left. The problem: Since the Democrats' drubbing, many viewers of outlets like CNN and MSNBC are no longer getting a thrill up their leg and are just not tuning in to hear "Trump sucks" on a 24/7 loop.

Wallace's ratings do not tell a happy tale. From the beginning of 2024 until election day, her show, "Deadline: White House on MSNBC with Nicolle Wallace," was averaging 1.6 million viewers. Since the election, that number dropped by 35 percent to just around a million viewers for the remainder of 2024. Her show also saw a big drop in the all-important advertising demographic of viewers aged 25-54. Those numbers dropped from 144,000 viewers before election day to around 93,000 after.
The new year has not been much better for "Deadline's" ratings. Since January 1, the show has averaged around one million viewers, a 25 percent dip from the same time in 2024. By comparison, in the same 4 p.m.-6 p.m. timeslot on Fox News, viewers average around 3.6 million. The 25-54 ad demographic is not interested in Wallace's anti-Trump moaning and gnashing of teeth either. She is getting beaten by Guy Fieri and the '67 Camaro on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" over on the Food Network and "Tyler Perry's Sistas" on BET.

It remains to be seen, but Wallace might have finished herself off on Tuesday night. Among the guests at the speech, President Trump introduced 13-year-old DJ Daniel. In 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer and given five months to live. His lifelong dream is to be a police officer. He has already been made an honorary officer by over 900 law enforcement agencies. On Tuesday, he became a Secret Service agent, with Secret Service Director Sean Curran giving him that honor. DJ got a standing ovation from Republicans while Democrats sat silent.
As egregious as that was, Nicolle Wallace decided to pile on. In a twisted, monstrous bit of verbal acrobatics, Wallace managed to tie DJ Daniel to January 6, saying after Trump's speech,
“I let myself feel joy about DJ, and I hope he’s alive for another, you know, 95 years, and I hope he lives the life he wants to live. He wants to be a cop. He knows what he wants to do, and maybe when you have childhood cancer, that crystallizes for you. I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer. But I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters, and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide, and I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people.”
Excuse me, what? You "let" yourself feel joy? This event did not make you feel joy naturally, just as a human being? Maybe Nicolle Wallace should have glanced at those ratings numbers before she uttered this wretched bit of commentary. Because if there are even just a few MSNBC viewers who still have a shred of heart, decency, or humanity left, those numbers should hit the basement quickly.
We should probably stop wondering how low people like Nicolle Wallace can go and still actually have show ratings that register. They are starting to take it as a challenge.
