As Americans, we have all stood up for something we believe in at one time or another. Maybe it wasn't the popular cool thing to do, but we did it because we felt it was right. When young people dare to do it, often going against the trend of the moment among their peers, it is a valuable lesson they will take with them in every aspect of their adult lives. It is that lesson the young men of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill are currently learning. And in their case, not only are they getting a teachable moment, but they have awakened a nation that maybe had no idea until now just how beaten down by anti-Americanism and America-last policies they are feeling.
Well done frat boys. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/h26ZWu4UrF

On Tuesday, pro-Hamas protesters, agitated that police had moved in to take down an encampment on campus and were making arrests, took down an American flag and replaced it with a Palestinian flag. University Interim Chancellor Lee Roberts, thankfully, would have none of it and took the Palestinian flag down, replacing it with the American flag. Pro-Hamas protesters, being the babies they are, attempted to take the American flag down a second time. That's when the brothers of Pi Kappa Phi stepped in. They kept the flag from touching the ground until Roberts, along with police, returned to hang the flag a second time. The PKP boys were pelted with debris and water bottles while pro-Hamas protesters hurled profanities at them. But the flag never touched the ground.

What has ensued for the Pi Kappa Phi guys is nothing short of amazing. The picture of the guys holding up the flag has gone viral. It is eerily reminiscent of the famous World War II Iwo Jima picture of American soldiers and New York City firefighters raising a giant American flag among the rubble after 9/11. A GoFundMe page was set up for the PKP guys so that the mother of all frat parties, what was called a "kegger" in my day, now referred to as a "rager," can be thrown in their honor. The GoFundMe page raised $375,000 in roughly 24 hours, and as of this writing is at $424,940.
It gets better. Country music star John Rich has gotten wind of the story. He contacted the Pi Kapp boys and is now planning what he called "a massive event to celebrate our flag and those who love her." The event is tentatively named "Flagstock." Even members of Congress have become aware of the story and donated to the GoFundMe page. Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) took to X to announce that he had donated $125 to the fundraiser, and had a message for the guys, "Next round on me, boys."
I’ve made contact with the Patriots at UNC! Working on a date to have a massive event to celebrate our flag and those who love her. I’ll keep ya’ll posted! Let’s call it #Flagstock 🇺🇸 Can you make Flagstock trend? LESSGO!

Very often, young people get a bad rap. All you have to do is look at those protesting on college campuses. They have "demands," they feel they are entitled to these giant temper tantrums — yes, that is what they are — but then are stunned and outraged further when they discover that their actions have consequences. Keep in mind, these are the same people, who also demand that Joe Biden forgive their student loans. Another action for which they want no responsibility.
Unabashed patriotism is hard to come by in Joe Biden's America. We are starved for it. Under his administration, America and its citizens are always last. Whether it comes to the economy, jobs, especially union jobs, or the best proof — importing millions of illegal immigrants with no thought as to how it affects Americans. The love of country the Pi Kappa Phi boys showed on Tuesday is so inspirational to every American who has seen it and seems to have raised us out of the anti-American coma that has rendered us almost numb at the hands of Joe Biden. The brothers of Pi Kappa Phi also may have helped Donald Trump awaken the sleeping giant even more, and it's a beautiful thing.
To the brothers of Pi Kappa Phi, thank you for showing us that not all young people are lost in leftism. Thank you for assuring old farts like me that there is most definitely hope for the future of America. And while those of us old enough to be your parents still think our music is better than yours, your patriotism is a model for every American.
Throw a party big enough that will forever define the term "frat party," and have a few for me. On behalf of America, well done gentlemen.
This is a powerful visual. Frat boys protecting our flag at UNC Chapel Hill while anti-Jewish and anti-America protesters. This is a terrible look for Biden and the Democrats.
