In a new statement, President Donald Trump has given the first hint that he may concede the 2020 presidential election.
The statement, which was transmitted via aide Dan Scavino’s Twitter account, came shortly after a joint session of Congress officially affirmed Joseph R. Biden as the next President of the United States in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
As our pals over at sister site Twitchy shared, “The declaration was made at 3:39 a.m”:

In the brief statement, which stops short of a formal concession, the president affirms that “there will be an orderly transition of power,” while signalling that the larger fight continues by echoing his campaign slogan to “Make America Great Again” :
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted.
While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

As readers might be aware, the president’s own Twitter account was suspended for 12 hours by the tech giant on Wednesday evening, as my colleague Nick Arama reported. [see: Big Tech Censoring News on Capitol Protest, Twitter Locks Trump Out of His Account]
Trump’s sometime-ally in the election fraud legal battles, attorney Lin Wood, reportedly has been permanently suspended from Twitter, as well.
Ironically, the president’s suspension came just after he shared a video urging supporters in D.C. to “go home in peace,” when some on the protest crowd chose to break into the halls of Congress and wreck havoc. Many things have been written about the events of the day, but I encourage you to read Mike Ford‘s, Sister Toldjah‘s and Joe Cunningham‘s opinion pieces on them for some much-needed perspective.
And though some highly-visible media figures have expressed doubt that Pres. Trump will hold fast to his promise to relinquish the White House at the time stated in the Constitution…
Let’s see if Trump makes good on this. https://t.co/0wJO9gutqK

…it’s always been a rock-solid fact that Trump would abide by that standard, after exhausting all possible, legal avenues to win four more years in office.
