Wokeness, it might be said, is a prick that penetrates. And periodically, modern enlightenment injects itself in a notable way. Step by step, society becomes fuller of the fluid that refines -- plunged into compliance by a social-justice syringe.
Apropos of progressive puncture, a milestone was recently witnessed by fans of a TV titan: Via a question, "Jeopardy!" showcased its cultural relevance.
A contestant named Cris selected the category of "Speech! Parts of Speech!" for $600. The big blue screen displayed the following:
Xem, Xyrs, Xemself
In times past, the above might've looked like gibberish. But a sexual and linguistic revolution has come on strong; knowledge of the terms now indicates one's social intelligence.
Cris answered expertly:
"What are pronouns."
Jeopardy asked about xem/xyrs/xemself "pronouns" during last night's show

Host -- and former "Jeopardy!" champion -- Ken Jennings confirmed:
"Those are pronouns. Neo-pronouns."
Indeed they are; but they're quickly becoming not so "neo." "Xem," "xyrs," and "xemself" are xweeping the xation:

"Jeopardy!'s" pronoun proclamation isn't the show's first modern nod. In 2021, it welcomed a member of a group some say is in jeopardy. From RedState coverage in December of that year:
Last week, "Jeopardy!" contestant Amy Schneider scored big. The wiz’s 18th consecutive win established total earnings of $706,800. That financial feat took Amy to heights above those of former player Larissa Kelly.
Once upon a time, Larissa finagled a collective fortune of $655,930. Such a booty made her the most winning woman to ever appear on the show.
But as reported by NBC News, Amy’s now taken the title:
"Jeopardy!" champion Amy Schneider made history again on Friday, becoming the highest-earning female contestant in the game show’s nearly 57-year run.
Larissa offered congrats online...
Well, it was fun to hold a Jeopardy record for a few years...but it's been even more fun to watch @Jeopardamy set new standards for excellence, on the show and off. Congratulations to Amy on becoming the woman with the highest overall earnings in the show's history! 📿👑

NBC elaborated on Amy:
The Oakland, California, native’s record-breaking win marked the second time she made game show history this year. Last month, Schneider became the show’s first transgender contestant to qualify for the Tournament of Champions, an annual competition among 15 players who have earned the most money from the prior season.

Back to the show's state-of-the-art parts of speech, some social media users weren't impressed. A small collection of less-than-clapping comments on X:
- "I thought 'Jeopardy!' was about facts, not fiction."
- "[W]hen the clues start representing made-up terms used by a small fraction of the population, that's it for me."
- "After Alex (Trebek), it all went downhill."
- "[N]ever watching that effing show again."
- "What is absurd Marxism?"
- "Fauxnouns."
- "Now 'Jeopardy!' gets to be on my...banned list."
- "Never would have happened with Trebek."
- "That would be, 'What is indoctrination.'"
- "I'd say, 'I'll take $500 for "What is f*** off."'"

Times change; people change; pronouns change. And by extension, so do game show answers. Hence, if you find yourself competing on-camera for that shiny new SUV, be sure you're current on cutting-edge communication. Your adversaries will be brushed up, you should bet. And any xe, ze, or sie would love to claim the car instead -- unless, perhaps, it's an Elon Musk-made Tesla.
