Iconic Cosmetics Brand Taps Beautifully-Bearded Model to Sell You Lipstick

It’s a new day in the world of women’s spaces — including their faces’ spaces.

Just in time for July 11th-12th’s Amazon Prime Day, iconic cosmetics brand Maybelline teamed with a barrier-breaking social media personality.

In years of yore, ovary-owning supermodels and cinematic starlets mugged for the makeup mammoth. A half-dozen:

But times have changed, as has marketing. Hence, Maybelline’s partnership with penis-possessing Ryan Vita — who boasts over 2,000 YouTube subscribers, nearly 50,000 Instagram followers, and 1.2 million followers on TikTok.

Ryan more closely resembles Rob Reiner than he does a conventional covergirl. The online influencer (he/she/they) is known for a curled and lubricated beard, which often bears a butterfly barrette or some other blingy bonus. But amid the Maybelline foray, focus falls on the man’s mouth.

Via Instagram, Maybelline shows Vita getting revitalized by luscious lipstick. The video’s caption:

Of course we have @Amazon Prime Day deals @ryanvitabeauty 😉!!! Click on the link in our bio to shop our bundles while this offer lasts! Hurry prime day ends tonight!!!!! 💰#maybellinepartner

His lip-love lift comes compliments of “Super Stay Vinyl In Longwear No-Budge Liquid Lipcolor Makeup.” Post-application, Ryan puckers with Raspberry Pink.

Here’s the influencer in ultra-beauty action:

And another clip for eye candy:

The ad isn’t Maybelline’s maiden use of people with prostates. In 2017, the company signed Manny Gutierrez as its first brand ambassador sans a cervix.

More recently, the corporation coupled with vas deferens-endowed Dylan Mulvaney:

It’s part of a surging trend. Step by step, sex separation is being separated from society:

Back to Maybelline and Ryan’s raspberry rim, not everyone online was won over. A round-up of less-than-amorous remarks:

  • “What a repulsion.”
  • “Nightmare fuel.”
  • “The overwhelming majority of people don’t want anything to do with this…”
  • “Love seeing these companies get on their knees and do whatever the [World Economic Forum] tells them to do. [They] will sell their own children to get a good ESG score.”
  • “Glad my wife doesn’t buy this brand.”
  • “Adding Maybelline to the growing list of companies I won’t buy from anymore.”
  • P*ss off, Manbelline.”

Will Maybelline’s open-minded move see it banished to the Bud Light bin? That, presumably, will be up to women. In areas of product promotion and athletics, they haven’t yet halted the revolution. But perhaps resistance is on the rise.

Then again, in myriad ways, it’s a reformed America; and opposing sides look to have met and mixed. Even a Fox News contributor has gotten in on the modern-makeup action:
