Are you ready for an entire year of masking up?
According to state Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, at least those in Pennsylvania — whose state motto is “Virtue, Liberty & Independence” — should prepare for many more months of being covered like they’re on Trapper John, M.D.
As per Penn Live, an impending COVID-19 vaccine from companies Moderna and Pfizer will be rationed in three phrases.
Hence, there will remain a need for preventative measures.
Phase 1 will involve “front-line health care workers, first responders, the elderly and people living in group health care settings.”
Phase 2? That’ll serve those at high risk.
The general public won’t get a shot — presumably literally — until Phase 3.
Speaking to PL, Rachel laid it out:
“We anticipate we’re going to be rolling this out through the winter and then into the spring and into the summer. It could take a significant amount of time to immunize everyone in Pennsylvania. I anticipate we’re going to be wearing masks well into 2021, maybe to the end of 2021.”
If the doctor’s name rings a bell, that may be because Rachel’s a man identifying as a woman. The medical expert made a splash in The Washington Post with 2016’s “Meet Rachel Levine, One of the Very Few Transgender Public Officials in America.”
This nomination would be groundbreaking! Most "radical" aspect of this possibility is that someone qualified, smart, warm & sympathetic will finally be elevated to this position. Dr #RachelLevine is more than qualified !! https://t.co/puk4w1OaTR#LoveWins #BidenHarris

Back to concealing your features, the Keystone State might not be alone.
Joe Biden has, of course, touted a national mask mandate.
Therefore, we could all soon be Pennsylvania — though many of you no doubt feel serenaded by South Dakota:
This is America's governor right here!

In Pennsylvania, masks have gotten so much official love, on Tuesday, Governor Tom Wolf announced a new restriction requiring people to wear ’em in their own homes.
RedState contributor Jeff Charles summed it up:
When indoors, masks will now be required even if you are physically distant from members not in your household. This means that even if you are able to be 6 feet apart, you will need to wear a mask while inside if with people other than members of your household.
That sounds like a very Biden-y kind of move. Might every U.S. citizen be required to cover their pie hole just to have someone over for dessert?
It’s ironic: Facebook allegedly went all out with measures meant to swing the election — so America might then live with no face.
As noted last month by The Daily Wire, Dr. Anthony Fauci seems on board with a long lingering:
It’s not going to be the way it was with polio and measles, where you get a vaccine, case closed, it’s done,” Fauci said. “It’s going to be public-health measures that linger for months and months.”
“You’re not going to have a profound degree of herd immunity for a considerable period of time, maybe toward the end of 2021, into 2022,” Fauci continued. “I feel very strongly that we’re going to need to have some degree of public-health measures to continue. Maybe not as stringent as they are right now.”
So there ya go: Halloween was canceled, but people all over — and, perhaps, especially in Pennsylvania — still have a lot of masking to do.
Life is one big Trick or Treat.
And thanks to the pandemic, like Charlie Brown, we got a rock.
