Has Biden won the election? CNN says Yes, but no certification yet agrees.
And as America sits in the waiting room to hear how Operation Election 2020 turned out, while many Democrats are already celebrating their preferred outcome, Ted Cruz suggests the Donkey Party should hold its horses.
Appearing on the FNC program Sunday Morning Futures, the Texas senator insisted Donald J. Trump can’t be counted out.
Literally.
In fact, he said, the President “still has a path to victory.”
Furthermore, the Commander-in-Chief’s fight could reach the nation’s highest court.
As reported by Fox News, here’s how Ted told it:
“I believe President Trump still has a path to victory, and that path is to count every single legal vote that was cast, but also not to count any votes that were fraudulently cast or illegally cast, and we have a legal process to determine what’s legal and what isn’t.”

Cruz pointed to the small northern Michigan county of Antrim, where thousands of ballots were counted in favor of both Joe Biden and Democrat Sen. Gary Peters — rather than Gary’s opposite-party challenger, John James.
John has refused to concede.
At a Friday press conference in the Antrim case, state Republican Chairwoman Laura Cox asserted Red ballots had been counted as Blue, “causing a 6,000 vote swing against [GOP] candidates. The county clerk came forward and said, ‘Tabulating software glitched and caused a miscalculation of the votes.’”
And — potentially — it’s worse:
“Since then, we have now discovered that [over half of Michigan’s 83] counties used this same software in the same capacity.”
Back to Ted, he noted something similar:
“[T]hat…software is used in 47 counties throughout Michigan. That needs to be examined. It’s hard to know what the facts are and hard to know what the truth is.”
Therefore:
“This case could very easily end up at the U.S. Supreme Court.”
So how are things gonna go?
Mr. Cruz believes it’ll be a throwback to the good ol’ 2000 election, in which Al Gore and George W. were relatively neck-and-neck.
Recounting ensued:
“I would expect a similar process to play out here, despite the media trying to tell everyone give up, go home, we know who we want to win. That’s not how it works. We need to follow the law, and that means allowing the legal process to play out.”
Of course — and already — not all Republicans are on the side of a challenge.
That includes — Trigger Warning — Mitt Romney (who, per RedState’s Bonchie, has just been ripped by Kristi Noem “for his fecklessness”).
Mitt appears to believe any claims of considerable crime are a hunk o’ hooey:
“The President is within his rights to request recounts, to call for investigation of alleged voting irregularities where evidence exists, and to exhaust legal remedies — doing these things is consistent with our election process.”
But (and it’s a big one):
“He is wrong to say that the election was rigged, corrupt and stolen—doing so damages the cause of freedom here and around the world, weakens the institutions that lie at the foundation of the Republic, and recklessly inflames destructive and dangerous passions.”

As for not giving up, are most establishment Republicans with Trump?
I don’t know, but I believe voters who punched the ticket for him overwhelmingly are.
And unless Donald Trump picks up a completely different personality soon, I don’t see him giving up.
The guy’s a fighter — if not, he would’ve never made it through these last five years.
Why give up now?
He’s said he’ll be in court Monday morning.
I believe him.
Back to my initial medical metaphor: Election process, change into this gown; the doctor will be in shortly.
You’re about to be examined.
