Kanye West has surely given some on the Far Left considerable discomfort.
He’s a rapper sitting on an entertainment empire, and he owns a Make America Great Again hat.
Well, those uncomfortable with Kanye’s previous Trumpish positions are gonna feel like they’re sitting on a grappling hook come November: West has announced he’ll be voting for The Donald.
And why? For one reason, he doesn’t wanna be “told by white people which white person [he] can vote” for.
Makes sense.
In the May issue of GQ magazine, Kanye dropped the bomb during a MAGA discussion.
“[I]’m definitely voting this time. And we know who I’m voting on.”
The star revealed that, last election, he was told his business would tank if he wasn’t on the “I’m With Her” bus.
He had some thoughts on that, too:
“What kind of campaign is that, anyway? That’s like if Obama’s campaign was ‘I’m with black.’ … Everybody make their own opinion! You know?”
When asked if he was worried about being a political outcast in Hollywood, Kanye made clear he ain’t skeered:
“Celebrities are scared! Celebrities don’t have the real voice… What’s the point of being a celebrity if you can’t have an opinion?”
Interesting point.
Plus:
“I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over. Because guess what: I’m still here!”
He sure is — his 2019 album went to Number One.
Another reason to vote for Trump? It appears the Commander-in-Chief is good for the hitmaker’s real estate portfolio:
“I buy real estate. It’s better now than when Obama was in office. They don’t teach you in school about buying property. They teach you how to become somebody’s property.”
He’s not into a victim state of mind.
You may recall in the 2005 aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, West blurted out a bit of a stunner on national TV: He claimed President Bush didn’t care about people if they were black.
But he’s evolved:
“‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people’ is a victim statement. That is stemmed in victim mentality. Every day, I have to look in the mirror like I’m Robert De Niro and tell myself, ‘You are not a slave.’ As outspoken as I am, and the position that I am in, I need to tell myself.”
Of course, Kanye’s fondness for the billionaire in the White House is probably not as egregious in Tinseltown as is his main endorsement — of Jesus Christ.
Last year’s chart-topping record was called Jesus is King.

During one of his sit-down conversations with GQ, West spoke candidly about finding God and stated that he “definitely” considers himself a born-again Christian.
The rapper, who recently started a Sunday Service gospel group, claimed he has “given his life to Christ” and is “healed” by the spiritual connections he has when he worships.
“I surround myself with the healing—the highest-level healing possible: singing about Jesus with my friends and family surrounding me [at Sunday Service] every single week,” he declared.
People don’t realize that Christians are loud. That we have a right to righteous anger. That Jesus flipped tables.
“They think that all of a sudden you believe in Christ, so we’re not even supposed to speak up. And if we speak up, people will say, “Oh, you’re being judgmental.” And it’s like, Oh, now, because I’m Christian, I don’t even have an opinion any more? I’m Christian and I still have an opinion. But my opinion is based on the Word.”
Yeah — that’s gotta be givin’ ’em fits.
Actually, I don’t know which is worse to some on the Far Left — that Kanye West praises Jesus, or that’s he’s voting for Satan.
