On Sunday, CNN provided some details on the reason no American troops were seriously hurt during Iran’s missile attacks on the Al-Asad air base in Iraq.
The network said personnel were given the heads-up two and a half hours prior, allowing them to time to fly out of the target zone or take cover in underground bunkers.
Here’s the Collusion News Network:
Most troops were either flown out of the base or sheltering in bunkers by 11:00 p.m. local time Tuesday — shortly before the first of four volleys of missiles began at just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
It was a very precise mission, but one that came up empty for the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism:
The attack lasted around two hours, only targeting the US areas of the air base, which comprise around a quarter of the Iraqi base. Officers called it a ‘miracle’ that there were no casualties at the blasted site, with missiles landing just a few meters from bunkers, and some essential personnel remaining outside throughout.
Though there were no casualties, Iran championed the attack as so much revenge for Soleimani.
As noted by The Daily Wire, the White House estimates at least 600 Americans died due to the work of the Iranian general.
Furthermore, he was purportedly planning to launch “imminent and sinister attacks” at U.S. locations in Iraq.
Only days before a drone strike took him out, he allegedly arranged the destructive Baghdad embassy protest.
Here’s more of the timeline of Iran’s assault, courtesy of CNN:
The first strike hit at 1:34 a.m. and after a brief pause of around 15 minutes, the next volley began. Two more volleys of missiles followed over the next two hours. At dawn, officers finally emerged from bunkers to discover the full scale of destruction.
We know many on the Left side of the aisle have taken care to accuse the President of wrongdoing in the killing of a seminal terror figure. Do you believe they’ve also played it coy in celebrating the preservation of U.S. forces, safely harbored during the missile strike?
Is there any part of the events of the last two weeks on which they’re willing to side with the President?
I don’t recall Republicans hailing Obama while jumping for joy over the bin Laden capture; but it seems to me what we’ve seen lately is unprecedented.
If I’m wrong — or right — I look forward to finding out in the Comments section.
