You know who didn’t build America?
That would be religion-hating socialists.
So said the President to an evangelical crowd Friday in Miami.
Trump was in town for the launch of Evangelicals for Trump, about which I previously wrote here. And the Commander-in-Chief was sockin’ it to those against America’s religious folk.
He told the crowd the nation “was not built by religion-hating socialists. America was built by church-going, God-worshiping, freedom-loving patriots.”
Here’s more:
“We know that families and churches, not Washington and bureaucrats, know best how to create strong and loving communities. Above all else, we know this: In America, we don’t worship government, we worship God.”
There are certainly some who appear to want us to worship government, in that they would like us to bow to it, so to speak. Some in the capital — who, perhaps not coincidentally, are in government — want those in government to rule over the masses by way of socialism: a system in which those leaders control all products and means of production.
Capitalist Trump believes, of course, very differently.
And he knows a lot of the Church is with him.
In his speech, the President thanked Franklin Graham for denouncing the recent editorial in Christianity Today which called for impeachment as part of Christian duty.

Along with Franklin, nearly 200 religious leaders signed a letter opposing the article by CT Editor-in-Chief Mark Galli.
Also thanked: Franklin’s staunch Trump-supporting daughter — Sissy Lynch.
“Sissy Graham Lynch, when you talk about a great family, that is a great family. The granddaughter of Billy Graham and the daughter of Franklin. And I appreciate everything that Franklin has done over the last two weeks.”
The President offered a promise to defend traditional faith as well as conservative fiscal policy.
As for the New York billionaire’s endorsement of religion, it’s not nearly his first remarks to that effect.
In 2015, he called the Bible his favorite book:

In February of 2018, he praised the late Billy Graham:
Starting at a small Bible School in Florida, Billy Graham soon led a nationwide revival. And there was this a few years ago, at the Values Voter Summit:
Donald Trump is on the side of faith as he approaches a — not only political, but — cultural war: 2020, a decider of the nearby fate of the country.
In Miami, he staked his claim. And it’s sure to gather supporters around him in order to — despite impeachment — take a second term as the Leader of the Free — again, that’s free — World.
