Holy smokes!
Want some psycho news? I got some.
On Wednesday, the LA City Council passed an ordinance requiring…
…wow…
…buckle up for this one…
Oh, wait — you already read the headline. Sorry for the ineffective build up.
Dang it. Here goes nothing:
From now on, all city contractors must divulge whether or not they have any ties to the National Rifle Association.
Yes — it’s that idiotic.
“Ties” includes any contracts or sponsorships.
Is this like lepers having to yell “Unclean!” during Biblical times?
Councilman Mitch O’Farrell wrote the directive. And why? Here’s what he had to say about it:
“For the sake of transparency, the city’s residents and stakeholders deserve to know how the city’s public funds are being spent, and whether taxpayer funds are being spent on contractors that have contractual or sponsorship ties with the NRA.”
What the FRICK????
For the sake of transparency. Because, apparently, any relation to the NRA is disturbing.
That must indeed be the implication. Surely they aren’t requiring disclosure so they can reward those companies tied to the pro-gun outfit. As Brian Regan said, “They didn’t invent whispering for compliments.”
The NRA protects the Second Amendment. To the Constitution. The council is treating the advocacy group as if it’s a terrorist organization.
The Left has been coming for your guns for quite a while.
[Side Note: I’ve covered this topic many times, and in one of its last published articles, the iconic Village Voice used my RedState piece here to signify the end of conservatives’ pathetic attempts to keep alive the treacherous 2nd Amendment. Also referenced was NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch, who Thursday shot down Jim Acosta hilariously (here). The Village Voice is no more, but the Democratic reach for your firearms is alive and well.]
Being anti-legal-gun is nothing new for Los Angeles. But what’s even less new is being anti-anything-making-good-sense.
The ordinance suggests impending discrimination. Contractors with any such ties will surely be afraid to disclose such information.
Here’s something crazy that I didn’t give away in the headline: The council voted to approve the motion 10-0.
LA is a leader in horrible left-wing edicts. If it can happen here (my city of residence), it can trickle its way to you. The Left has declared war on the 2nd Amendment. Perhaps, the November midterms will represent a battle won. For now, like Jews wearing stars of David, contractors who dare be tainted with the right to bear arms can count on a devilishly leaner workload in the City of Angels.
