New York Residents Let Loose on Biden After His Visit Causes Chaos

Former President Donald Trump says that his team is making a "play" for New York.

I don't know about their chances. He certainly did get a great reception from cheering union workers at a construction site he visited at 6:30 a.m. (long before Joe Biden generally gets up). One worker let Joe Biden know what he thought of him in a classic New Yorker kind of a way.

Even a union leader came out against Biden and said he would be voting for Trump.

But Biden just made things a little worse for himself in New York when he went to Westchester to a fundraiser at the home of actor Michael Douglas and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Part of the problem was that they hadn't announced all the closures because of the visit to the area, so many were caught unaware and then trapped by the road closures and police. That left some people stuck in traffic for hours, according to the New York Post. It shut down businesses and it even denied at least one man entry into his own home.

They didn't announce all of the road closures so people could know because of "security concerns." But then they closed down a two mile stretch of road on Route 9 and shut down other roads.

They wouldn't let Matt Figola get to his home.

“There was quite a bit of traffic on my way home from work, which I figured was an accident,” he said. “I went through my normal back roads to get to my house, and I was blocked at every road.”

“I was nearly home and the police turned me away. I gave him my address and said, ‘I live right down here, I’m literally a minute away from home,’ and he said, ‘No, there’s a two-mile cordoned-off radius’. It was crazy.

“They wouldn’t let me pass even though I live here,” Figola lamented of the tight security that virtually shut down the town of 6,400 residents.

He ended up going to a diner for awhile until the craziness was over.

Boaz Modovsky was trapped on the highway for an hour with her two little kids and I think we can alll appreciate her problem.

“I was stuck on the 684 right by the Westchester airport for an hour with my two kids who both had to go to the bathroom,” Miodovsky told The Post.

“We were just stopped,” she said. “It’s ridiculous. There’s no thought for the people.”

She slammed the event saying there should have been better planning.

Miodovsky acknowledged that she’s “not the biggest Biden fan” but said that “even if it was Trump, I would be annoyed.

“To inconvenience a whole town for a fundraiser, whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, is unfair to the community.”

They even shut down the government offices and the library in Irvington after 1 p.m.

Five school districts in the area also sent children home early in anticipation of the traffic congestion. All after-school programs in the districts — Irvington, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Tarrytown and Hastings-on-Hudson — were canceled as well.

Nanny Will Martinez said it disrupted "thousands of lives." Irvington resident Steve Caporal said he didn't think it was right so that Biden could make all this money that "everyone in town suffered."

But with Joe Biden, it's all about him. I'm thinking this probably cost him a few more votes.
